Taking Your Own Stand
when Harm is Spoken Against YOU!

2 - Speak for Myself

Numbers 23
7 And Balaam took up his oracle and said:
"Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram,
From the mountains of the east.
'Come, curse Jacob for me,
And come, denounce Israel!'
8 "How shall I curse whom God has not cursed?
And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?
NKJV

Sometimes in our lives we meet people like Balak the king of Moab who want to put spoken curses upon us to hold us back and impede our progress in life.

Spoken curses are ill-will expressed in words which are directed to hurt, obstruct and hinder another person's progress. It can be especially powerfully obstructive when it comes from an authority person in our life, like our parents, teachers and other people whom we look up to. It can also be obstructive when it comes from an abuser or bully who has been targeting us.

One way of dealing with this menace is through declaring God's word out of my own mouth. God is the ultimate authority Person, and if I have made Him head of my life, I have the privilege of speaking what He says about me, to counteract what ill-will says about me.
Today I can speak for myself what God says about me in a situation of spoken curse.
In verse 8 Balaam said this:
How shall I curse whom God has not cursed?
And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?

Therefore I can say about myself:

I declare that nobody can curse me, because God has not cursed me.
Nobody can denounce and condemn me, because my Father has declared me free of condemnation.

Make sure you say that loud enough for you to hear, and remind yourself of it during the day.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving me the freedom to declare Your word concerning my life,
in Jesus' name,
Amen.
